Dear Mama: You are Appreciated

"ain't a woman alive that could take my mama's place"

Tupac Shakur

As Mothers Day approaches I wanted to do something a little bit different. I wanted to share with my readers some of the reasons why I appreciate my mother. If you follow me on Facebook then you have already seen my daily posts of why I appreciate her.

"Like to hear it.. Here it goes"

I appreciate my mom cause:

When I was a little SdotMarie my mother would pack my lunch and she would pack my lunch and put a napkin with her lips on it. Just to let me know that she loved me and that she will always be with me. soooooooo when I opened my lunchbox I would instantly light up. it really meant a lot to me.

I appreciate my mom cause:

When my sister and I would fight. She would separate us and say "ARE YOU YOUR BROTHERS(SISTERS) KEEPER" and we would repeat "YES I AM" and hug it out. Then she would say "WHO IS GOING TO MAKE YOU COOKIES WHEN YOU GO TO JAIL?" then we would have to say "My sister" at the end of the day.. no matter what. I have my sisters back and she has mine. we are not allowed to go to bed angry at each other and if mama Francine knows about it... there's going to be trouble.... trouble

fun fact: my mom loves new jack city

I appreciate my mom cause:

My mom taught us how to shake hands. We practiced ALL THE TIME and if we didn't have a nice firm grip oh you getting popped! No limp noodle handshakes around these parts.

I appreciate my mom cause:

She taught us dinning etiquette. No elbows on the table while eating. Do not eat with groceries hanging out your mouth. (chewing with your mouth open). How to cut a steak correctly and the order in which you use your eating utensils in a formal dining setting.

I appreciate my mom cause:

She taught us how to be hospitable. Every time you come to our house she makes you feel right at home. She taught us how to throw a nicely out together party/gathering on a dime. Anyone that knows her can attest to my moms gatherings.

I appreciate my mom cause:

She taught us to never slouch... to always stand up straight... to walk with CONFIDENCE!

You have no business looking down unless you are looking for money..

I appreciate my mom cause:

ULTIMATELY SHE LOVES us UNCONDITIONALLY... NO MATTER WHO we are.. OR WHAT we Did. SHE LOVES us!!! (like Jesus)

"EVEN THOUGH I ACT CRAZY. I GOT TO THANK THE LORD THAT YOU MADE ME"

I appreciate my mom cause:

she passed on that good ole cooking gene. Both of her daughters can cook! Believe it or not I was rarely in the kitchen growing up. My sister was always in the kitchen helping. I honestly thought I wouldn't know how to cook. Chile! please!! I cooks down!

*the secret*

always cook with your whole self. put love into it and it will always be good.

I appreciate my mom cause:

she taught us if you’re going to do something.... you do it right... or don’t do it at all.. Don’t half ass it..

I appreciate my mom cause:

She taught us to be true to ourselves. To be honest about who you are and live in that truth.

a quote that she lives by:

"This above all: to thine own self be true..."

hamlet by William Shakespeare

as I mature I see more and more of my mother pouring out of me. The things I didn't understand I now understand. I truly can say that I appreciate every thing that she taught us.

happy mothers day mama!!!
